Beiners' land sold for millions
By JANE CUNNINGHAM
Beiners' field, bush, trails and development has changed hands in a multi-million dollar deal with Reid's Heritage Homes of Guelph.
Developers Frank Beiner and brother Joe moved into semi-retirement following the close of the deal yesterday. The sale will transfer about 600 acres between Parkwood Drive and Concession 10 in Port Elgin to the Guelph company.
It plans to continue with the concepts the Beiners have already laid out.
"We want to carry on with their vision," said Dan Murawsky, regional manager of Reid's Heritage Homes.
He added they may also create an adult lifestyle community as they did near the University of Guelph in 1999. It won the Ontario Home Builders' Association's adult lifestyle community of the year award.
